Charles’ Obituary Funeral services for Charles Bernard will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with the Rev. Stephen Scott Chemino, V.G. officiating. Burial will follow in the Pythian Cemetery.

Arrangements are under the direction of Hixson-Ducote Funeral Home of Bunkie. Mr. Bernard, age 54 of Baton Rouge, formerly of Bunkie, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2019 in Baton Rouge. He is preceded in death by a son, Bobby Joseph Bernard and his parents, Cilton, Sr. and Della Marcotte Bernard.

Survivors include his children, Amanda Bernard of Bunkie and Rusty Bernard of Opelousas; his siblings, Michael Marcotte and wife Pam of Alexandria, Marie Deshotel of Bunkie, Rosemary Rollins and husband Jimmy of Bayou Chicot, Linda Rollins and husband Carl of Bayou Chicot, Cilton Bernard, Jr. and wife Patti of Bunkie and Shelia Ducote and husband Mike of Pineville; and four grandchildren. Friends may visit on Saturday from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. with a rosary at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Pallbearers will include; Steven Ducote, Chad Rollins, Jimmy Rollins, Jr., Ryan Bernard, Michael Marcotte, Jr. and Joey Marcotte.
