Charles “Charlie” Edward Jones, age 73, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Sunday, January 27, 2019 at his residence. Graveside services will be held 2:00 P.M., Friday, February 1, 2019 at Sweetwater Cemetery. .

Burial will follow. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home. Charlie was born on January 11, l946 in ReKlaw, Texas to Montgomery and Bonnie Kate Jones.

He married Dixie Mize on June 29, 1991 in Sweetwater, Texas. Charlie had a passion for rebuilding cars that was only shadowed by his love for Dixie. He lived his life with zest, vigor and always put a smile on everyone’s face.

His joy knew no bounds and he shared that joy with everyone that he met. He was beloved by all that knew him and he will be dearly missed by a host of family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Dixie Jones of Sweetwater, Texas; daughter, Tina Spencer of Breckenridge, Texas, son, Ricky Jones of Strawn, Texas, step-daughters, Kellie Hills and husband Ernest of Roby, Texas, Sherrie Davis of Roby, Texas, and step-son, David King and wife Connie of Naples, Florida; fourteen grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; brother, Glen Jones, and two sisters, Joy Jones and Etta Barnes.
