Charles D. Stein, 75, residing in Marble, PA was born in Sandusky, Ohio on March 28, 1943 to Charles A. Stein and Vernal M. (Keegan) Stein. He received his body upgrade and moved on to Heaven on July 2, 2018 Denny, as he was most often called, grew up with three brothers: Roger Stein (wife Frannie) of Vero Beach, FL, Larry Stein (Leighann) of Bellevue, OH and a third brother, Alan Stein, who was killed in action in Vietnam serving with the Marines. He spent his childhood racing sailboats on Lake Erie and building iceboats for hobby.

He also enjoyed working on computers, sometimes crashing them for sport so he could rebuild them, listening to music (really loud) and painting on canvas. Denny married his wife, Susan E (Patterson) Stein on April 25, 1964, and she survives. Two children followed; Lisa (Stein) Guerrero (Larry) who also lives in Marble, PA and Mark Stein who currently resides in Austin, TX.

Also surviving is an honorary granddaughter, Gracee Donovan, who lit up his life with her antics and love. He attended seminary in Hillsboro, MO and pastored Foursquare Churches in Erie and Clarion. Denny was also a commercial artist with his own company for many years.

He drew and painted architectural renderings of many local churches and schools. After retiring Denny and Sue started working for their daughter and son-in-law’s business, Potpourri Patch. They spent most weekends at craft shows and festivals, which was wonderful for Denny.

Anyone could tell you that he had the gift of gab. He loved to share information and talking to people gave him great joy. He’s probably still standing just inside the pearly gates talking the angels’ wings off.

Denny loved his Lord and spent his entire adult life serving his Savior Jesus Christ. He was involved in various ministries including working with troubled teens, the homeless, serving in the mission field to the people of Kenya, East Africa, teaching, preaching and counseling anyone who needed a listening ear. Now he’s rejoicing in a new body and spending eternity with the One who gave His life for all of us.

There will be an Upgrade Party, instead of a funeral, at a later date. Memorials can be made to Fertigs Church of God of Prophesy (Lighthouse of Praise) where Denny and Sue are members. Onlince condelences may be sent to Denny’s family at www.
