BOWEN Sr., Charles E. (Retired Chief, Central Coventry FD), 82, of Flat River Rd. , passed away at home on Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was the husband of the late Loretta D. (Bercham) Bowen and companion of Nancy Johnston.

Born in and lifelong resident of Coventry, he was a son of the late William H. and Ella E. (Carr) Bowen. After retiring from CCFD, he became a volunteer with the Western Coventry FD. He was an avid runner, loyal NASCAR fan, collected fire dept.

memorabilia, loved walking and loved anything to do with nature. His three grandchildren were the joy of his life. He will be missed dearly by family and friends.

He is survived by his loving children, Charles E. Bowen, Jr. and wife Tracie of Warwick, Robert Bowen and wife Kim of Coventry, Cheryl Seltzer and husband Robert of Greenville and Donna Bowen of Coventry; a brother, William H. Bowen, Jr. of Seekonk; a sister, Hazel Fluette of West Warwick and three grandchildren, Amanda and Sarah Seltzer and Sklya Rose Bowen. He was the brother of the late Richard Bowen. His Funeral Service will be held Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 am in the IANNOTTI Funeral Home, 415 Washington St. (Rte.

117), Coventry. Visiting hours Wednesday 3-8 pm. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Charles’s name to the Western Coventry Fire Department, 1110 Victory Highway, Greene, RI 02827 would be appreciated.
