Obituary for Charles “Ed” Mathis Charles “Ed” Mathis, age 90, Of Middletown, went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 12, 2018. He was born to Joseph and Birdie (Gibson) Mathis on July 6, 1928 in Middletown, Ohio. He was retired from Armco Steel Corp after 30 years.

Also Co-owner and founder of Mathis Fabric Center, Hamilton, Ohio. Charles is survived by his second wife, Louise (Oldfield), son Charles ”Ed” Mathis, Jr. (Marla), stepson Terry (Sondra) Oldfield, stepdaughter Nadina Crowe, daughter in law Jan (Hector) Salazar; grandchildren, Shayne Mathis, Shawn (Paul) Graham, Timothy (Angel) Mathis, Leah (Scott) Mercy; great granddaughter Natalie Mercy, Sister Sylvia (Herb) Glass; several step grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his first wife Viola (Lykins), son Richard “Rick” Mathis, grandson Kyle Mathis, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be held at the Breiel Boulevard First Church of God, Saturday, November 17, from 10:00am to 1:00pm. Funeral Service to follow at 1:00pm, Pastor Wes Duff officiating. Burial at Woodside Cemetery.
