Charles Ford Slick Merrill, Michigan Charles left his pain behind on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at U of M Hospital. Age 62 years. He was born on January 12, 1956, son of Lucille (Hoppe) and the late Gordon Slick, in Saginaw.

Charles lived in the Merrill area and was a graduate of Merrill High School, Class of 1976. He fractured his back in a fall at the age of 9 and lived with the complications and pain for the rest of his life, never giving up and living beyond doctor’s predictions. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, giving his nieces and nephews rides on his wheelchair and watching football.

Charles was a big Michigan State Fan, giving the staff at the hospital a good laugh during his stays at U of M. Charles will be missed by his mother Lucille Slick; his brothers, Randy (Penny) Slick, Ronald Slick and Aaron (Heather) Slick; his sisters, Louann (Tim) Rohn and Christine (Gerald) Eurich; many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 2, 2018, at W. L. Case and Company, 125 E. Saginaw, in Merrill. Chaplain Douglas Bassett will officiate.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday at the chapel from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider the Jonesfield-Lakefield Township Fire Department or the family’s wishes.
