Charles ‘Chuck’ Baldwin went home to the loving arms of his heavenly Father on February 12, 2019. His blessed life began in Carbondale, Illinois on December 20, 1946, son of Edsel and Mary Baldwin. He graduated from Cape Girardeau High School and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Illinois.

He began his professional career as a counselor and coach in the Mahomet school system before having a long and successful career as a counselor, associate vice president, and faculty member at Parkland College. He was honored as one of Parkland’s greatest Champions and Advocates when he was inducted into the Parkland College Foundation Society in 2017. Chuck was an avid runner, sport enthusiast and coach.

Most importantly, he was a loving family man and powerful follower of Jesus Christ working extensively in ministry for the Kingdom of God. He leaves behind his loving wife, Joyce; son, Adam Baldwin (Sarah Benskin); sister, Donna (Rick) Nelson; brother, Brad (Cindy) Baldwin; extended family, Jim and Nancy Humay, and Dan and Pat Humay. He was blessed by and dearly loved his additional children: Megan and Jason Lamb, Christine Breiten, Corinne and Kyle Herges, and Charlie and Kelly Gorski.

A highlight of his life was participating in the lives of his grandchildren: Jessica Hamilton, Cassidy Peterson, Janae, Jenna, Tyler, and Corey Breiten, Olivia, Joe, Emily, Therez, and Will Herges, Charlotte, Natalie, and Graham Gorski, and Aidan Talbott. A memorial fund has been established in Chuck’s honor at Restoration Urban Ministries, PO Box 3277, 1213 Parkland Ct. , Champaign, Illinois 61826.

Chuck’s legacy is a life filled with acceptance, fairness, grace, forgiveness and demonstrating the love of Christ. A Celebration of Life is planned for March 30, 2019 at 11:00 am at CU Church Champaign, Illinois. Details forthcoming.
