Cheryl Osterbur peacefully passed away Sunday (March 10, 2019) after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born July 6, 1945, to Jason and Jane Collins, who have preceded her in death. She graduated from Mahomet-Seymour High School in 1963 and began her career as a beautician at Empire Beauty Salon in Urbana.

She became the manager of JCPenney Salon in 1980 and dedicated the next 29 years of her life to her customers until she retired in 2009. Cheryl loved her family and friends and was full of energy and laughter. Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Tiffany (Mike) Myers, and two grandsons, Zachary and Jacob.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 14, at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., Champaign. The service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, at Owens Funeral Home, followed by interment in Grandview Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at alz.org.
