Obituary for Charles Fitzwater Charles H. Fitzwater, 72, of Flatwoods, WV passed away June 2, 2018 at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. He was born August 25, 1945 at Sleith, WV to the late Charles F. Fitzwater and Vila (Allen) Fitzwater. Also preceding him in death were half-brother Ernest Stump and half-brother Delford Stump; half-sisters Jenny Miller, Nellie Rollyson, and Betty Strnad.

Surviving are his wife, Colette Fitzwater, son Chris Fitzwater, step-children Chandy Williams Smallwood and Husband (James Smallwood), Andrew Williams and his Fiancé (Nova Bender), Cassondra Williams and Justin Williams. Also surviving are grandchildren, Aaliyah Williams, Kaeden Fisher, Jadyn Fisher, Dyllen Williams, Jason Williams, Kiara Williams, Trentin Williams, Kylie Williams, Aiden Williams, Karma Towner, Cora Towner, Harlei Williams, Ashton Losh, Kaesyn Losh, Rylan Losh, Kyle Leigh Fitzwater, and Dylan Fitzwater. Charles graduated from Gassaway High School and was a truck driver.

He enjoyed Nascar and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhart, Jr He also loved the outdoors and spent many hours hunting deer and fishing. He served his Country in the United States Army and also served as a firefighter for the Gassaway Fire Department.

Family will receive friends at the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home, 378 Flatwoods Corner Flatwoods Road, Flatwoods, WV 26621 from 11-1 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2018. Funeral Services will follow in the Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Luke Malensek officiating. Interment will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery where he will receive Full Military Honors from American Legion Post 33.

Memories and Condolences can be expressed to the family at stockert-paletti.com. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. The Stockert-Paletti Funeral Home in Flatwoods, WV will be honored to handle the arrangements of Mr. Charles H. Fitzwater.
