Charles’ Obituary Charles Lee Garrett “C. L.” age 71 of Cairo, IL departed this life on Friday February 8, 2019 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born in Cairo, Illinois to the union of the late Rev.

Levi Garrett, Sr. and Mary Allen Garrett on August 19, 1947. Charles was the fifth child born to this union. Charles accepted Christ at an early age.

He attended Sumner High School in Cairo, Illinois. He was employed by the 773 Labor Union and he had been employed by the former Burkhart in Cairo, IL. Charles loved Baseball and he was interested in cars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Levi Garrett, Sr. and Mary Allen Garrett, two brothers, Levi Garrett, Jr. and Morris Garrett, one nephew Genie Williams and two nieces, Pier Wilson and Camilla Box. Charles is survived by three sons; Charles Butler of Florida, Michael (Jennifer) Garrett of Cobden, IL and Carlos Garrett of Carbondale, IL.

, one daughter Anita Thomas of Cairo, IL. , four brothers: John Garrett of Cape Girardeau, MO. , Ronald Garrett of Cairo, IL.

, Joseph (Martha) Garrtett of Mound City, IL. and David Garrett of Cape Girardeau, MO. , three sisters: Arnetta Williams of Cairo, IL.

, Lucille (Joe) Howard and Christine Box both of Decatur, IL and a host of grandchildren, great grand children, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services for C. L. Garrett will be held on Saturday February 23, 2019 at the First Missionary Baptist Church in Mound City, IL. Friends may call at the Church on Saturday from 11:00am until the funeral hour at 12:00pm.

Funeral will be at 12:00pm with Rev. James R. Dowell officiating. Interment will be private in the Green Lawn Memorial Garden in Villa Ridge, IL.

Arrangements were Entrusted to Massie Funeral Home in Mounds, IL.
