Charles “Charlie” Lee Reed, age 70, passed away November 18, 2018 at his home. Charlie was born March 23, 1948 to Ralph Lewis and Martha Alice (Beard) Reed at Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Shawnee Mission North High School.

He joined the U.S. Navy and spent 2 tours as a Boiler Tech First Class. Charlie worked as an HVAC technician and retired from Johnson County Wastewater in 1996. On November 22, 1996 Charlie married Patrica K. Reed.

Charlie served… Read More » two terms as president of Tanglewood Lakes. He loved living at the lake and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends. Charlie loved a warm summer day sitting on the porch having a cold one with whomever stopped by.

Pat “Robin” was the love of his life and his best friend. Married 22 years and enjoyed every minute with each other. His children and grandkids were also the loves of his life.

Charlie was a giving man. He would never hesitate to help someone out. He will always be remembered by all who loved him.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Ralph Reed and Ronald Reed and grandson Kamiko Lee Mamaeula. He is survived by his wife Patrica K. Reed of Paola, KS; children Krista Reed (William Combs III) of Independence, MO, Melissa Reed of St. Joseph, MO, Steve Clark (Sam Clark) of Overland Park, KS, April Winters (David Gamling) of Merriam, KS, Mayme Miller (Larry) of Peculiar, MO, Cindy Webb (Sam) of Belton, MO and Alicia Reed; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors and/or American SIDS Institute (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome).
