OBITUARY Charles “Sid” Sidney Elam April 10, 1936 – September 22, 2018 Mr. Charles Sidney Elam “Sid”, 82, entered into eternal peace on Saturday September 22, 2018 in Louisville, Kentucky. Sid was born in Ashland, Kentucky in 1936. He graduated from duPont Manual High School in 1954 where he met his high school sweetheart Delores.

They recently celebrated 63 years of marriage. He worked for many years at Mobil Chemical Co. After retirement he and Delores worked 3 seasons at Walt Disney World. He was a proud Kentuckian, serving 10 years on the Kentucky Derby Festival committee and attending 70 Kentucky Derby’s.

Sid was also given the honor of becoming a Kentucky Colonel. In more recent years, Sid and Delores spent their winters with the Six Lakes community in North Fort Myers, Florida enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. He enjoyed family gatherings, camping and was an avid U of L fan.

Mr. Elam is preceded in death by his parents; Charles Roscoe and Margaret Eudora and brother, William Leslie Elam. He leaves behind his loving wife and their four children Charles David Elam (Janet), Diane Elam Vaughn (Steve), Darlene Elam Bauer (Steve), and Denine Elam Rives (Wayne). Sid also leaves 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Robert James Elam (Veronica).

A visitation for Mr. Elam will be Tues. Sept. 25 at Arch.

L Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Rd. Louisville, KY from 1-8pm. Funeral service will be held Wed.

Sept. 26 at 12. FAMILY Parents; Charles Roscoe and Margaret Eudora Brother, William Leslie Elam.

Wife Delores Elam Four children Charles David Elam (Janet), Diane Elam Vaughn (Steve), Darlene Elam Bauer (Steve), Denine Elam Rives (Wayne). 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, Brother, Robert James Elam (Veronica). A visitation for Mr. Elam will be Tues.
