Obituary for Charles T. Sherman Charles T. “Chuck” Sherman, age 72 of Powell, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 4, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio due to complications following a stroke. He was surrounded by his family. Chuck was born on August 10, 1945 and raised in Franklin, NH, the son of Charles H. Sherman and Mary E. (Van Camp) Sherman.

Chuck received his Bachelor’s degree from San Diego State University. Chuck served in the United States Army, 101st Airborne Division, from 1967-1970 Following his military service, Chuck pursued a career in banking. Eventually following in his father’s footsteps and starting his own business, PH Hydraulics and Automation, and later Phoenix Hydraulic Presses, manufacturers of hydraulic presses.

He worked with his son Buz Sherman for over 20 years. Chuck was an avid runner and completed numerous marathons, including the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., in honor of his father, a World War II Marine Corps veteran. Chuck was a longtime resident of Powell, Ohio, a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Kinsale Golf and Fitness Club.

Chuck was loyal fan of the San Diego State Aztecs and San Diego Padres. He will be remembered for his passion for life and his desire to help others. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, and grandfather.

His hearty laugh and big smile are cherished by many and will be missed by all who knew him. Chuck is survived by his wife and life partner of over 30 years, Lynette (Mock); his daughter Julia Lambert (Michael) of West Chester, PA and granddaughters, Charlotte, Fiona and Francesca; his son Charles “Buz” Sherman (Lindsey) of Columbus; his brother David H. Sherman (Linda) of Seattle, WA; his sister Susan “Susie” Talley (Mike) of Menifee, CA; and his nieces, nephews and grandnephews. Chuck is being welcomed home by his Dad, Charles H. Sherman and Mom, Mary E. Sherman.
