Obituary for CHARLIE “CHARLES” LOUIS GOGGANS Charlie “Charles” Louis Goggans was born on August 20th, 1938 in Nixburg, AL. He was the 3rd child born to the late Otis Tom Goggans, Sr. and Mary Emma Shorter Goggans. Charles Goggans finished his race for life at the age of 80 years old on Monday morning October 22nd, 2018 with lots of love, support, comfort and his family at his side.

He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Chad Goggans, his parents, and three brothers, Lee Forest Goggans, Perry Goggans, and Larry Goggans. In 1960 he moved to Columbus, OH where he met his wife Ruth. Together they took pride loving and raising their 3 children.

Charles was a good provider, a hard worker in the construction and manufacturing field, also a fan of the Pittsburg Steelers. He enjoyed camping, fishing, gardening, singing, R &B soul 60’s music, attending family events and laughter! He had a strong personality very stern, honest, no nonsense, witty, practical, also a true inspiration, and courageous.

Charles had a passion for fixing things, working on cars or any project, he even made his own wine. His generous loving heart left a lasting impression on anyone who graced his presence. Charles had a great knowledge of the bible.

In 1975 he dedicated his life to Jehovah. Charles had a heartfelt and devoted love for Jehovah, strong faith and zeal for public witnessing. Charles raised his children on bible principles, also dedicated countless hours of his time to JW.org.

All who knew Charles, knew about his love and faith for Jehovah God. Charles life will forever be cherished through his loving and devoted wife: Ruth Goggans. His loving children: Carolyn (Michael) Goggans – Huff, and Charles “Tony” Goggans.

His legacy will continue through his grandchildren: Jason, Charde, Chantae, Ashley, Carley. Great grandchildren: DJ, and Jase. He leaves behind 9 siblings: Mary Rutland Thomas of Indianapolis, IN; Otis (Louise) Goggans, Jr. of Indianapolis, IN; Helen Johnson of Compton, CA; Lamar (Yvonne) Goggans of Indianapolis, IN; Paul Goggans of Indianapolis, IN; David (Beatrice) Goggans of Atlanta GA; Carolyn (Kittren) Walker of Birmingham, AL; Sheryl (Anthony) Borden of Cottage Grove, AL; and Kenneth (Eugena) Goggans of Madison, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, lifelong friends and his spiritual brothers and sisters from the Madison Mills congregation.
