Charlie’s Obituary Charlie Miller, 63, of Onida, died February 11, 2019 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Friday, February15, 2019 at Onida United Methodist Church in Onida, concluding with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Funeral Services will be at 10:30am, Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Onida United Methodist Church.

Interment will follow at Onida Cemetery. Charles “Charlie” Edwin Miller was born on January 7, 1956 to Charles Edward Miller and Lorraine (Hiller) Miller in Pierre, SD. Charlie grew up in Onida, SD and graduated from Sully Buttes High School in 1974.

He went on to attend Lake Area Technical Institute in Watertown, SD studying building trades. He married Arlene Hrdlicka on June 3, 1978. To this union two children were born.

He began his career working for DeSautell Construction with his cousin Wade Hiller. He then went on to work at Lamb’s Discount and finally Cenex Harvest States where we worked for over 25 years. Charlie enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.

As an avid outdoorsman he enjoyed spending time with his family camping and fishing along the Missouri River and hunting wildlife. He spent countless hours planting vegetable gardens and flowers especially petunias. Charlie’s most monumental moment as a packers fan was taking in a game at Lambeau Field with his children.

He is survived by his children Scott Miller of Wessington Springs, Laura (Thad) Jacobson of Florence; grandsons Colin and Devin Jacobson; mother Lorraine Miller of Onida, sister Brenda (Spike) King of Blunt, Niece Rachel (Cory) Comes of Blunt; Nephew Chip (Kendall) King of Highmore, great niece Carmyn Comes; great nephew Charles King; and special friend Kerrie Hawkinson of Hoven. He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and infant brother.
