WILLIAMSPORT – Charlotte R. (Robinson) Gordon, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her home. Charlotte was married to the late Abraham David Gordon who passed away in 1968. They were married for 20 years at the time of his death.

Charlotte was born on June 1, 1929 in Binghamton, NY and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Sara (Charnoff) Robinson. She graduated from High School in Binghamton, NY, graduated from Lycoming College and then obtained her master’s degree from Bucknell University. Charlotte worked for the Williamsport School District and taught 1st grade at J. Henry Cochran in the same classroom for over 30 years.

She was a member of the Congregation Ohev Sholom, where she was a life member of the Hadassah and for over 35 years Cherva Kadisha. She had volunteered for many years at the Salvation Army and the Cancer Center. She herself was a cancer survivor for several times.

Charlotte was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother that loved to travel the world, was non-judgmental and always listened, very loyal to her friends and was always optimistic and cheerful. Charlotte is survived by two sons; Scott M. Gordon (Lynn) of Scranton and Mark P. Gordon of Binghamton, NY, two daughters; Shelley I. Flaxman (Bob) of Binghamton, NY and Marcy G. Magdule (Denny) of Harrisburg, five grandchildren; Abra Hogarth (Matt), Rachael Brown (Joe), Danielle H. Steele (Andy), Abraham D. Gordon and Aimee R. Gordon (Stephen) and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters; Esther Siskin and Thelma Bresnick.

The funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2019 at the Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation & Funeral Home, 500 West 4th St., Williamsport with Marvin Hurwitz officiating. Burial will follow in Ohev Sholom Cemetery, Montoursville. In keeping with Jewish tradition, there will be no viewing or flowers.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the Salvation Army.
