Obituary for Christine Barrows Christine (Tina) Elizabeth (née Ballent) Barrows, passed away April 10, 2018 at home, surrounded by her family. Born December 10, 1934 in Mt. Carmel, PA, she married her husband of 61 years, Martin R. Barrows and had 3 children: Lisa (Don) Kerr, Brenda (Greg Anderson) Barrows, and Susan (Tom) Libby, and 6 grandchildren: Caitlin, Campbell & Will O’Connor, Dylan Tripi, Forrest Kerr, and Dexter Barrows.
A longtime member of the Doylestown Nature Club, Doylestown Hospital VIA, founder of the Penn-Jersey Basketry Guild, and a docent and supporter of the Mercer Museum and Fonthill, Tina was a lifelong committed volunteer to these and many other community improvement endeavors. As a Bucks County Artist-in-Residence, Tina taught and demonstrated basketry throughout the Bux-Mont area, touching thousands of lives over the past 20+ years. She shared her love of art, service, and food with countless children and those fortunate enough to call her friend.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, family, friends, students, and the community. Future arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Doylestown Food Pantry, www.
