Obituary for Elvira Martinez Elvira Martinez of New Hope, PA passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 in St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne, PA. She was 96. Born in Ourense, Spain to the late Francisco and Aurelia (Guerrero) Mera, Elvira immigrated to the United States in 1958 and settled in Newark, NJ.

She later moved to East Brunswick, NJ then Little Egg Harbor, NJ before settling in New Hope, PA in 2017. She was formerly employed as a seamstress and worked in the garment industry in Newark, NJ. She was the beloved wife of the late Higinio Martinez; devoted mother of Connie Rodriguez and husband Paul; dear sister of the late Dolores Guerrero and late husband Aurelio; loving grandmother of Elaine Connor and husband Kevin, Paul Rodriguez and wife Michele; cherished great-grandmother of Jessica, Sean, Natalie, Andrew, Ava and Jake.

A memorial mass will be held in the future at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 212 Lafayette Street, Newark, NJ 07105. Cremation services were private. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, PO Box 1893, Memphis, TN 38101-9950 or www.
