Obituary for Christine Mattingly GREENFIELD – Christine Anne (Merlau) Mattingly, age 75, of Greenfield, passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Morristown Manor. She was born in Indianapolis on February 7, 1943 to Kenneth and Frances (Winterbottom) Merlau. She graduated from New Palestine High School in 1961 and married Stiles Monroe Mattingly III on July 1, 1961 in Greenfield.

She worked for American National as an insurance agent for many years. Christine enjoyed shopping and was an avid Elvis fan. She is survived by her sons, Jeff Mattingly of Indianapolis and Brent (Kris) Mattingly of New Palestine; daughters, Erin (Todd) Green of Greenfield and Stacey (Morgan) Keller of New Palestine; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth (Jo) Merlau of Chicago and John (Cathy) Merlau of New Palestine.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Frances Merlau; and husband, Monte Mattingly. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140.

A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Danny Curry will be officiating. Burial will follow at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to the donor’s favorite charity.
