Obituary for Claire J. Tkacsik TKACSIK (nee Novak), Claire J. – 79, of North Cape May and formerly of Perth Amboy, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, April 18, 2018 with her family by her side after a courageous battle with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Claire was born June 27, 1938 to Joseph and Sophie Novak in Perth Amboy, NJ. She attended Perth Amboy High School where she was involved in many sports, school clubs and activities; graduating class of 1956.

Claire met her husband, Mike while they were in the 3rd grade and lived around the corner from one another. They were married February 12, 1961 and remained inseparable until Mike’s passing in 2015. Claire worked as a meat wrapper for Two Guys in Hopelawn, NJ and Foodtown in Sayreville, NJ from where she retired, before relocating permanently to North Cape May.

Claire is predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Sophie Novak and her loving husband, Mike (2015). Claire is survived by her two children, Lori (Randy) Whitt and Michael (Gail) Tkacsik, Jr She is also survived by her one grandson, Randy Whitt, Jr. the love of her life.

Claire will be greatly missed. Claire’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday (April 23rd) at 1:30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington Street. , Cape May where there will be a viewing from 12:30pm-1:30pm.

Interment will take place on Tuesday (April 24th) at 11:30am in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Perth Amboy.
