She was the fourth of seven children.

Clara attended Kennard Public School. She accepted Christ early in life and united with Church of The Living God. Clara worked at Walmart for 11 years as a cashier.

On January 8, 2019 in Tyler, Texas, Clara left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her mother, Erma Dickson; father, Coonie Murphy; siblings, Herman Lee Kickson, Claude Dancer, Jr., Mary Ann Dancer and Vernell Archie. Loving survivors: Son, Marquice (Samara) Dickson, Tyler, Texas; daughter, Tametria Dickson, Tyler, Texas; brother, Joe Nathan Dickson; sisters, Josephine (Vernel) Archie, Debra Fay Dickson, Lufkin, Texas and Sarah Dickson, Crockett, Texas; grandchildren, Davione Marqell, Dabarwen Lee Wilson, Serenity Monique Herety, Kayden Lamon Dickson, Augustina Dickson, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
