Obituary for Clara Elizabeth Reed Clara Elizabeth Reed, 94, of Martinsville passed away June 18, 2018. She was born July 11, 1923 in Franklin County, Virginia to Elder Nathan Lester Prunty and Bertha Annie Martin Prunty. She retired from Martinsville High School as a custodian.

She was of the Baptist faith. She loved flowers, bright colors and caring for her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Reed; sisters, Mary Prunty, Lucy Prunty, Velma Prunty, Delphine Prunty, and Bertha Ziegler; brothers, Letcher Prunty, Homer Prunty, John Prunty, and Otis Prunty.

She is survived by her sons, Lonnie Ray Prunty, and Nathan Reid (Annette); sister, Mattie V. Holland; granddaughter, Maggie Hairston; and a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Old Fort Mountain Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 2:30 P.M. at Wright Funeral Service Chapel.
