Obituary for Clara Wise Clara Davis Wise, February 2, 1929 – January 4, 2019. Clara lived an extraordinary life. She was 1 of 14 children and was the daughter of Lee and Loula Davis.

She grew up in the Great Depression and helped raise many of her brothers and sisters before she married Frank Wise in 1945 and had 3 children of her own over the next few years, James Wise (deceased), Dora Hensley, Betty Young, both of Kingston. She faced adversity and hardship head on with grace and dignity. She has suffered loss and tragedy throughout her life and never let it hold her down for long.

From the loss of her parents, most of her siblings, her husband, her son, and some grandchildren. She was a God fearing woman although the last many years of her life she was unable to attend church. She was a fantastic cook and didn’t let people leave her house hungry when she was able bodied.

She helped raise several of her grandchildren and was the cornerstone of her family. She had 9 grandchildren Jenny and Sandy Wise, Virginia Hensley, Melissa Scott, Julie Young, Sarah Nelson, Jimmy Wise, Steven Young and Jason Hensley (deceased), 11 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral 2pm Monday, January 7, 2019 in the Kyker Chapel with Pastor Virgil Davis officiating.

Burial in Tennessee Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm until 2pm Monday at the Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Clara Wise please visit our Sympathy Store.
