Obituary for James (Jim) E. Weaver James (Jim) E. Weaver, 78, born in North Carolina, April 12, 1940 passed from this life into the next on January 2, 2019. He was preceded in death by his parents James Browning Weaver and Lola Carpenter Weaver. Jim loved reading, traveling, fishing, gardening and visiting with all his cousins and other extended family.

He loved good food, especially barbeque and tomatoes and all things sports but above all, his favorite team the St. Louis Cardinals. One of Jim’s bragging rights was he was a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters UA Local 43 in Chattanooga, TN for 58 years. He was proud that one of his grandsons followed him in to the welding trade.

Jim loved to learn things whether through reading or school, regardless whether it was profound or trivial, he wanted to know more. The ever-present stack of discarded newspapers and magazines next to his bed were evidence of his reading prowess. Jim graduated from Roane County High School in 1958.

His regrets were few but included not finishing his college education from Tennessee Technological University or being able to join the military of which he was a lifetime supporter. He was delighted when his three daughters attended TTU. Jim was a former member of Antioch Methodist Church, Crouse, NC and Kingston United Methodist Church, Kingston, TN.

Those left behind to cherish his memories include his loving wife of 50 years Glenda Lee Watson Weaver whom he married on May 11, 1968, daughters Cynthia and husband Trevor Trout of Harriman, TN, Sharon and husband Brian Davis of Cookeville, TN, Karen and husband Eric Gibbons of Murfreesboro, TN, and 10 grandchildren: Travis Trout, Tyler Trout, Matthew Davis, James Davis, Trace Stafford, N.
