Claude Benjamin Bradfield October 27, 1935 – March 15, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Claude Benjamin Bradfield, 83, of Baker, WV passed away on Friday March 15, 2019 at E.A. Hawse Nursing & Rehab Center in Baker. Born on October 27, 1935 in Baker, he was the son of the late Jasper H. Bradfield and Beulah F. (Gochenour) Bradfield. Claude was a lifetime farmer, working with his cattle and making hay in the summer and worked 45 years for Bradfield Lumber Co

He was a lifetime member of the Zion Lutheran Church where he served on council for many years; a member of the Baker Ruritan, he was chosen WV Conservation Farmer in 2008 and received the award in Charleston, WV, and served as former board of directors of Hardy County Farm Bureau. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Cecil, and Harold and a sister, Mary Jane Smith.

He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Surviving is his wife, Sheila L. (Haines) Bradfield, whom he married on December 19, 1964; a son, David Bradfield (Tina) of Baker, and a grandson, Tyler Bradfield. Funeral services will be held on Monday March 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in McKee Funeral Home Chapel, Baker, WV with Pastor Gary Koontz and Pastor Dale Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Zion Cemetery, Baker, WV. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Hospice Promise Foundation, Grant Memorial Hospice, 100 Hospital Dr., Suite 2, Petersburg, WV 26847 or Baker Ruritan Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 66 Wardensville, WV 26851.
