Claude E. “E.B.” Davis Sr., age 82, a New Castle resident, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 12, 2018. He was surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 25, 1935 in Albany KY, a son of the late Lige and Naomi Guffey Davis.

He was a New Castle resident most of his life and was retired from Ingersoll Steel Corporation in 1996 after 30 years of service. Mr. Davis was a member of the U. A. W. local # 729. He served an enlistment with the United States… Read More » Air Force where he was a recipient of several military Awards and recognitions including the United States of America “The Soldiers Medal” for heroism.

Mr. Davis placed himself in harm’s way by entering a burning air craft to save a fellow serviceman. He was an active member of The Sanctuary Church where he had served in several areas of ministry including Sunday School Superintendent and assistant Pastor. Mr. Davis loved family and church activities, traveling, playing solitaire on his computer and he loved animals.

He will be remembered as a man with a kindred spirit, a sense of humor, he loved people, and he was very unselfish. Left to cherish his loving memory include; his children, Deniece (John) Carmean, Rex A (Wanda) Norris . , Rose Mary (Jesse) Boyles, Claude E. (Sara) Davis Jr. and Belinda H. (Eric) McCarty, grandchildren Missy (Andrew) Dallner, Bryce (Crystal Paige, Andrea (Baron) Gambrel, Rex (Wendy) Norris III, Amanda (Matthew) Boyles, Nathan (Nancy) Paige, Kayla (Jonathon) Eskew, Chelsie (Brad) Dilleshaw, Ashley Davis, Evan Davis, Afina McCarty, Alexander McCarty, Addisyn McCarty, and many great grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sibling Marie Moran, Ginny Lowe, Lil (Danny) Lowe, Connie (Russ) Cheeseman, Bonnie Roseberry, Eugene (Denice) Davis, and Jerry (Brenda) Davis. Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia Rose (Asher) Davis, whom he married November 5, 1971, his children, Gerald E. Norris and Vicki L. Page, his siblings, Jay Davis, Earl Davis, Obie Davis, and Donna Denney. Visitation will be from 2-8pm Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services.

The funeral will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. Jeff Jaco officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Garden.

Military honors will be conducted by the U. S. Air Force, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the American Legion. Online condolences may be made to www. macerhall.com.
