Clement V. Jankoviak, 84, of Cheboygan passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at the Brook Retirement Community in Cheboygan. A lifelong resident of the area, Clem was born February 13, 1934 in Cheboygan, the son of Stanley and Gladys (Skiera) Jankoviak. On June 28, 1958 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan, he married Kathleen Ayotte, who preceded him in death in 2011.

Clem sailed on the Great Lakes freighters for 43 years, retiring in 1997 as an oiler on the M/V Myron C. Taylor. He enjoyed farming, spending time at the shack, playing his harmonica, and was a member of St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, Mark (Pam) Jankoviak, and Mike (Carol) Jankoviak, both of Cheboygan, a granddaughter, Amanda (Russell) Mishler of Big Rapids, two great grandsons, Owen and Evan Mishler, a sister, Gertrude Hall of Wisconsin, two brothers, Richard (Marilyn) Jankoviak of Riggsville, and Sylvester Jankoviak, both of Riggsville, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his wife, Kathleen, he was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Clara Kortz, Veronica Kozlowski, Josephine Eustice, and Marie Johnson, and two brothers, Frankie and Vincent Jankoviak. The funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00am, with the family greeting friends beginning at 10:00am, at St. Mary/St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan. Rev.

Duane Wachowiak will officiate, burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cheboygan. Memorials may be made to the Bishop Baraga School.
