Sandra Foster, 71 Lifelong area resident Sandra Foster, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at McLaren Hospice House in Cheboygan. Her family and friends will honor and celebrate her life during a graveside service that will take place at Little Traverse Township Cemetery near Conway at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018. The service will be led by Rev.

David Behling. She was born Sandra Kinert in Petoskey to John and Shirley (Zimmerman) Kinert on June 9, 1947. She grew up in Petoskey and was a graduate of Petoskey High School.

On April 15, 1966 she married Stephen D. Foster at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Stephen preceded her in death on September 30, 2016. Sandra worked in the Dietary Department of Lockwood Hospital until its closing and then went on to work for Northern Michigan Hospital.

She retired in the early 2000’s and dedicated herself to her favorite pursuits. Sandra was blessed with a green thumb and was a gifted flower gardener. For years she was a fixture at the Indian River Farmers Market where she sold the flowers she grew.

She was a loyal and generous friend and a loving wife, mom and grandma. She was loved and will be missed. She raised four children all of whom survive; her sons, Stephen Jr., and Gail, and daughter, Linda Foster and her brother-in-law, Kevin.

Also surviving is her grandson, Stephen Daniel Foster III, her brother Dennis Kinert and sister, Cheryl (George) Daniels. Friends and family are asked to consider memorial donations in Sandra’s memory to McLaren Hospice House of Cheboygan.
