Clifford J. Abbott, 92, of Canyon passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 25 at Brooks Chapel with Rev. Rick Enns, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating.

Burial will follow at Dreamland Cemetery with Military Honors provided by Volleys for Veterans. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 24 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Brooks Chapel. Clifford was born June 10, 1925 in Hale County to George and Vera Abbott.

He married Doris Geraldine “Jerry” Dodson in November of 1946. Clifford was a veteran of the US Navy serving in the Pacific during WWII. He was an architect and former partner at Shiver – Megert Architects.

He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, the Masons, and the First United Methodist Church of Canyon. He spent time woodworking and metal sculpting. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Clifford was preceded in death by his wife, Jerry. Survivors include his daughter, Seleta Abbott of Lubbock; grandson, Brian Gwin and wife, Ashlee of Amarillo; granddaughter, Brooke Chance of Lubbock; great grandchildren, Canon and Corbyn Gwin, Rubee and Avelynn Smith; brother, Bill Abbott of Lubbock; and several nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Crown of Texas Hospice Foundation, 5211 SW 9th, Ste.

100, Amarillo, TX 79106.
