Ronald (Ronnie) Cone Johnson of Happy won his battle with cancer on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the age of 74. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the First Baptist Church of Happy with Dr. Richard Shaw officiating. Burial will follow at Happy Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Happy’s Memorial Chapel. Ronnie was a farmer and rancher, a devoted husband, a great dad, and an awesome granddad. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Jeanne; his daughter, Roxie Ralston and her husband, Rex of Gruver; his son Jay Wade Johnson and his wife, Bilynn of Happy; and four grandchildren, Saxton and Texie Ralston and CW and Lynnlea Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cone and Sweetie Johnson, and a brother, Randy Johnson. A native of Happy, he graduated from Happy High School in 1961 and West Texas State University in 1966. Ronnie served on numerous boards including the Happy ISD School Board, the Mid-Plains Rural Telephone Coop Board, the Swisher County Activities Association, and the Swisher County 4-H Adult Leaders Association.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Happy. He enjoyed attending sporting events at West Texas A&M and watching his grandkids show cattle. Memorial donations in memory of Ronnie may be made to the Happy Volunteer Firemen Building Fund, PO Box 216, Happy, Texas 79042 or to the Happy High School Former Student Scholarship Fund, 11401 E. FM 1075, Happy, Texas 79042.
