Colleen Esther Engel, 71 of Central Lake, died May 23, 2019 at home. She was born August 24, 1947 in Marquette, the daughter of Charles and Violet (Bazinette) Brunette. Colleen retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Generations Family Credit Union.

She was an active member of St. Luke Catholic Church and was involved in the Eucharistic ministry and Baby Pantry. She was also active in the community and a longtime caregiver for her late husband James. Colleen enjoyed reading in her spare time.

She also enjoyed spending time boating on Torch Lake, traveling and going on cruises. Surviving Colleen is her sister Charleen (Gary) Epperson of Milton, WA, her brother Charles Jr. (Sandy) Brunette of Reedsville, WI, 2 sisters in law Carole (Karl) Payk of Rapid City, MI, Margaret (Robert) Ortman of Hemlock, MI, niece Shiloh (Brent) Greenwood of Salcha, AK, nephew Gabriell (Lindsey) Epperson of Marion, SD and several great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband James in 2012, her parents and 3 infant children John, Theresa, and Brian.

A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at St. Luke Catholic Church with Fr. Chet Collins officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorial contributions can be given to St. Luke Catholic Church. Arrangements have been handled by the Central Lake Chapel of Mortensen Funeral Homes. Please sign her online guestbook www.
