Richmondville- Cornelia (Connie) Ann Fairbairn, 90, formerly of Richmondville, died Monday, April 30, 2018 at Center for Living in Schenectady. Born January 7, 1928 in Schenectady, she was the daughter of John and Satie (Lupes) Hilbert. Raised in Schenectady, Cornelia graduated from Mont Pleasant High School.

She retired from Visiting Nurse Service where she was a Home Health Aide. During the 1970’s, Connie was a library clerk at SUNY Cobleskill. In her leisure time, she enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, cooking, sewing, knitting afghans and drawing.

She was the loving mother of Barbara Fairbairn of Richland, WA, Janet (Dan) Tissiere of Highland, NY, Karen Fairbairn of Schenectady, Audrey Rapant of Cobleskill, and Darlene (Kenny) Loiacono of Galeton, PA; grandmother of Veronica Purdy and Jessica Hoopes, Allison and Amanda Rapant, and Danielle Ramirez and Courtney Tissiere; and great-grandmother to 9 precious great-grandchildren. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 138 Washington Ave. , Cobleskill.

Inurnment will follow in Zion Rural Cemetery, State Route 10, Seward, NY. Memorial contributions may be made to Marathon For a Better Life, PO Box 268, Warnerville, NY 12187. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mereness-Putnam Funeral Home, 171 Elm St., Cobleskill.
