Cornell L. “Bud” Vander Weide, age 87, of Grand Rapids passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 28, 2018 after a lengthy illness of Alzheimer’s. Bud was born in Grand Rapids on October 10, 1930 to Cornelius and Alice (Newenhouse) Vander Weide. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Theresa, Minnie, Pearl, Harriett, Kathryn, Clara and Mary.

Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Mary (Grant) Vander Weide; his son, Craig (Wendy) Vander Weide and his daughter, Ruth Vander Weide; his grandchildren, Laina, Camille, and Chance; one great-grandson, Solen; his sister, Donna Sytsma and two special nieces Patricia (Mike) and Rosemary. Bud was a master plumber through his working years and served as Plumbing Inspector for the City of Grand Rapids. He was a long-time member of Fifth Reformed Church.
