Obituary for Curtis Roosevelt Blevins Curtis Roosevelt Blevins, 78, of Bristol, VA passed away Friday, November 9, 2018 at Abingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Saltville, VA on November 5, 1940, a son of the late John and Agnes Daughtery Blevins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert, Charles, and Arley Blevins and five sisters, Eva Goodpasture, Ovella Smith, Christine Chandler, Pamela Blevins and Elizabeth Blevins.

He was of the Baptist faith and attended Lynwood Bible Church. Curtis had worked at Bristol Steel and Bristol Compressors. His hobbies included music, nascar, watching the Atlanta Braves and most of all playing with his band, Country Tradition.

Curtis is survived by his wife of twenty years, Vickie Blevins; son, Gary Blevins and wife Cindy; daughter, Pam Wenworth and husband John; step-daughter, Sherri Hudson and husband Wil; three grandchildren, Zach, Eric and Nathan; four step grandchildren, Ben, Kelly, Samantha and Heather; two sisters, Phyllis Debord and husband Harold and Jeannie Warren; brother-in-law, Steve Givens and wife Nancy; and two sisters-in-law, Pam Givens and Lisa Smith and husband Ronnie; a special friend, DC Hess; and several nieces and nephews. A Committal Service and Interment will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Forest Hills Memory Gardens, Abingdon, VA with Pastor Benny Bowman and Pastor Josh Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be David Hudson, Roger Tedder, Harold Bowman, Mark McCracken, Mark Haynes and Tony Messer.

Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home by 2:15 PM Monday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Doug Green and staff, Abingdon Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Tommy Jo with Caris Hospice for all their love and care shown to Curtis during his illness. Mr. Blevins and his family are in the care of Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services.
