He was born in Cleveland County, NC, and was preceded in death by his grandfathers, William Jr. Roper and B.W. Blanton. Ethan was a graduate of Campbell University where he earned his BS in Clinical Research.

Ethan had a deep love for God, His Word, and people. He displayed a true servants heart that was seen in many ways especially in the way he served the church through his gift and love for music.
