Daniel J. Giesler, 62, of Rock Island, passed away Friday, June 22, 2018 at his home. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 12 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 1st at Rooster’s in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan.

Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Rock Island is assisting the family. Daniel was born January 30, 1956 in Rock Island, the son of Merle and Lois (Gray) Giesler. He married Lynn Peters and 3 children were born to their union.

Daniel retired from McLaughlin Body following 28 years of service. Daniel was a proud father who also enjoyed volunteering at the humane society, riding bicycles and he also coached Little League at Douglas Park in earlier years. Daniel loved his family and cherished all of the time he got to spend with them.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Timothy Giesler, Rock Island, Josh (Ayla) Giesler, Davenport and Abby (Matt) Sedlak, Rock Island; grandchildren, Alexis, Olivia, Jaxson, Aleah, Sophia, Sonya, Jaydon and Dlaynie Giesler and Owen Sedlak; sister, Nancy (Clay) Brigham, High Ridge, MO; special family friends, Jeff and Amber Moritz, Rock Island and many other nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
