Henry T. Shelton, 70, of Rock Island, died Monday June 18, 2018 at UPH Trinity, Rock Island. Services will be 11:00am Monday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, 3030-7th Avenue, Rock Island. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5pm at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Rock Island National Cemetery. Henry was born on November 2, 1947 in Rock Island, the son of Bud and Geraldine (Rose) Shelton. Mr. Shelton had been employed at the Rock Island Arsenal as a carpenter, where he retired.

He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam with distinguished honors. Henry was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Survivors include his son, Darren (Julie)Turner, Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Darren Jr., Gavin, Khiana, Graisyn & Bryce; siblings, Jimmy Hines, Bobby Hines, Ronnie Hines; aunt, Florine Hines; nieces and nephew, Rhonda Wilson, Jamaica Jackson-Jordon, Kireen Jackson, Abduhl Jackson and Teisha Hines; great nieces, Keisha Wilson & Shaniyah Jackson.
