Obituary for Daniel Kennedy Daniel Kennedy, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and dear friend passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, and entered his heavenly kingdom. Daniel was born on March 23, 1928, in Crucible, Pennsylvania to Henry and Madeline (nee Gandley) Kennedy. Daniel served in the United States Navy 1946 through 1948.

On July 3, 1950, Daniel married Alberta Krusik, celebrating 67 years of marriage; Alberta predeceased Daniel on January 8, 2018. Together they raised six daughters; Kathy (Don Weber) Kennedy, Rosemary Fiscus, Suzan Kennedy, Karen (Tom) Lomas, Gretchen (Mitch) Tarras, and Tricia (Ed) DeGroat. Daniel also welcomed ten grandchildren; Ryan (Ann), Laura (Carlos) and Liz (Adam) Phillips, Tommi Lynn (Tyler), Danny (Jeanne) and Patrick (Taylor) Lomas, Eric (Kirsten) Tarras, Emily, Adam, and Cassie DeGroat, and nine great grandchildren, plus one addition due August 2018; two sisters in law; Rene Mancini and Frances Kennedy; numerous nieces and nephews, and several friends and neighbors.

Daniel was an Electrician for Grey Iron, retiring in 1991 after 26 years of service. Daniel enjoyed being around family and his grandchildren. He loved camping, taking his grandsons and granddaughters fishing, planting flowers, and building bird feeders.

Many of the bird feeders/houses are still standing at Imerman Memorial Park. Daniel was preceded in death by his wife Alberta; his parents; four siblings, Audrey, Donald, Jacqueline, and Odey; several sisters and brothers in-law; nieces, nephews, and his daughter, Suzan Kennedy. Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2018, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Andrew Church site of Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 612 N. Michigan Avenue, Saginaw, MI 48602.

Rev. Fr. Ronald Wagner will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, www. stjude.org. The family of Daniel Kennedy would like to give their thanks to the VA Medical Center for their wonderful care.
