Youngstown – Daniel L. Allen, 66, of Youngstown, died, Sunday, June 3, 2018 at his home. He was born February 24, 1952 in Ravenna, son of Shirley Mercer Allen and the Late Rex Allen. Daniel worked as a truck driver for R&J Trucking and Austintown Dairy and worked at Deming Pump.

He was a football and basketball referee in the area for over 20 years. He enjoyed stock car racing and was a member of the twin state auto club. His wife, Kathleen Sopkovich Allen, whom he married April 8, 1999, preceded him in death on April 21, 2016.

He is survived by his mother of Columbiana; two daughters, Julie Pauly of Virginia Beach, VA and Lori Allen of New Orleans, LA; a step son, Steven (Dee) Pihonsky of Ramsey, MN; a sister Elaine Dailey of Lisbon and two grandchildren, Tyler and Katlyn Allen. He was preceded in death by his father, and brother, David Allen. No services will be observed.
