Darlene J. Thue (Formerly Darlene Busse) DARLENE J. THUE, age 79, of Walker, MN passed away February 18, 2019 She was born Darlene Jane Stroming on March 25, 1939 to Harry and Hazel Stroming in Minnesota Lake, Minnesota. Beloved wife of Ed Thue and long-time resident of Walker, Darlene was an active member of the community and a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Darlene had many passions that brought her joy in life.

Her green-thumb meant the home was always filled with beautiful flowers and her garden full of vegetables. A master around the kitchen, Darlene enjoyed making everything from scratch, including her family’s favorite pies. Darlene enjoyed playing Bingo weekly and going to the Casino in hopes of hitting that next jackpot.

She loved watching the many animals that would visit outside her home including deer, turkeys, and her favorite, cardinals. “When a cardinal appears in your yard, it’s a visitor from heaven,” she would say. She is being reunited in Heaven with her Mom and Dad, her sisters Susie and Mary, and her long-time canine companion, Spotters.

Left to honor Darlene and cherish her memories alongside her husband Ed are her sons Bruce and wife Linda, Mark and wife Barb with dog Chance, and Harley; grandson Kevin and wife Gina; great-grandson Giovanni; and sister Sandy. A celebration of Darlene’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 4656 MN-Hwy 200, Walker, MN 56484. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service also at the church.

Luncheon will follow the service at the church. Pastor Matthew Vrudny will officiate. Pallbearers for Darlene will be Scott Uden, Paul Patzoldt, Bob Jerrow, Bruce Busse and Gio, Mark Busse and Kevin Strohl.

Interment will be held later in the spring in Turtle Lake Cemetery, 2793 64TH ST NW Walker, MN. The family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to all her many friends who’ve kept her close in their thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or the Immanuel School in Walker, Minnesota.
