Darlene Mae Maines Jones, 48, of Carrollton, Kentucky, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018, at Norton’s Women and Children’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born November 3, 1969, in Seymour, Ms. Jones was the daughter of Eugene Lee Maines Sr., and Irene Manns Maines. Ms. Jones worked on the assembly line for NAC in North Vernon and had been the manager for KFC in Seymour.

She enjoyed making jewelry and crafts, coloring, art and reading books. Survivors include “her boys,” Zachary Payne and Bryor Payne both of North Vernon; brother, Eugene Lee Maines Jr. of Commiskey; sisters, Brenda Higgins of Ghent, Kentucky and Bonnie Brewer of Versailles; nieces and nephews, Dawn Maxie of Seymour, Roger Bonesteel Jr. of Sellersburg, Randy Bonesteel of Paris Crossing, Michael Beavers, and Misty Stephens both of Ghent, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Diana Sue Maines; and grandparents, Mildred and Donnie Maines and Ethel and Burnice Manns.

A funeral service for Ms. Jones will be at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Friends and family may call the funeral home on Tuesday, October 9, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until time of service. Memorials may be made through the funeral home for expenses.
