David Bovell December 12, 1933 – March 14, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers View/Sign Guest Book| Send Private Condolences| Send Sympathy Card Mr. David Eugene Bovell of Trufant, and as of late Howard City passed away on March 14, 2019. He graced our world for 85 years. He was born Dec.

12, 1933 in Lansing, MI. , son of Edgar and Kathryn (Wells) Bovell. He proudly served in the U.S. Army before studying at Lansing Community College.

He was preceded in death by Judith Bovell (wife), his parents, children Scott Paul and Penny Allyson. Dave was a lifetime entertainer. He retired from piano tuning and repair after 70 plus years.

Dave highlighted his piano playing career on the Mississippi Queen Riverboat and tuned the pianos for British rock band Jethro Tull. For forty years and well into his retirement, he continued to play for and entertain the “old folks” at Kelsey and United Memorial Hospitals. Dave was a world traveler with his companion of over 40 years.

He enjoyed people, reading, and music, all while offering a smile and unbridled laughter. He was “Pops” to daughter Jody (David) Warner, and sons Kent (Cheryl Baird) Gendreau and Timothy (Jason Studley) Gendreau. His grandchildren Jason, Scott, Steven, Alex, Austin, Samantha and Olivia.

Great grand children Emily, Jacob, Camden, Brielle, Easton, Evelyn and Iva. Dave also has one sister, Georgia Shedenhelm of New Hampshire, and three nephews. Dave also had three lovely daughters from a previous marriage: Kathy, Barbara (deceased) and Carol.

He celebrated life everyday. Now we will celebrate his life at Howard City’s Bethel Lutheran Church on M- 46 on Saturday, March 23rd from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. Please come celebrate with a song in your heart.
