David Carlos Cates, 38, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at IU Health La Porte Hospital. David was born in Michigan City, IN, on February 20, 1980 to Forrest “Jimbo” and Marikey “Micky” (Collette) Kesler. Surviving are his parents; fiance, Deborah Carrier of La Porte; brother, James Dale Cates of South Bend; and stepmom, Brenda Cates of Michigan City.

He was preceded in death by cousins, Erik Collette, Roger Cates; uncles, Nate Brown and Ken Collette; and aunt, Wanda Robbins. David enjoyed playing his PS3, watching movies, music, go carts, and most of all he loved his brother. He also loved his family and friends.

He also loved his church. A time of visitation will be held from 2 – 4 PM (CST) on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at First Apostolic United Pentecostal Church . A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4 PM (CST) on Saturday at the church with Richard Hoffman officiating.
