David E. Neifert, age 71, of Novi, MI formerly of New Boston, MI passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at Providence Park in Novi, Michigan. Prior to David’s passing, he was a resident at Manor of Novi in Novi, MI. Born on May 3, 1947 in Monroe, Michigan, he was the son of Carl and Anna May (Oestrike) Neifert.

David was a graduate of Huron High School and continued his education at Eastern Michigan University (majoring in History) earning his Bachelor’s Degree. David enjoyed talking about history with everyone, sports and all of the old bands and their music. He had a very sharp mind despite his physical disabilities.

He was employed as a Desk Clerk at Allen Park Motor Lodge in Allen Park, MI for 32 years. He was an avid Sports fan of the Detroit Tigers and Detroit Lions. He enjoyed going to the games while he was able to.

During the past 6 years, he watched every game he could, and made sure to keep track of the statistics. David also ran the little store at the Manor of Novi which he thoroughly enjoyed doing for the residents and staff. David was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Anna May Neifert, and brother Bruce Neifert.

He is survived by his sisters, Judy A. (Dennis) Ellzey of Windsor, CO and Sue E. (Harry) Fowler of Loveland, CO; special cousin, Nancy Flannigan. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association in his name. A private service will be held at a later date.
