Obituary for David Eugene Perry David Eugene Perry, 78, formerly of Oakfield, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018, at St. Agnes Hospital. David was born on August 15, 1939, the son of Lester and Vida (Klettke) Perry. His mother passed away January 7, 1941, after giving birth to his brother Robert.

In 1945 his father married Hortense Schoepke. After graduating from Oakfield High School, David joined the United States Army and served from 1958 to 1961. While he was in Germany, he met Christa Grzymski.

They were married on February 10, 1962 and made their home in Oakfield. After leaving the service, David started work at the Mammoth Springs Canning Company in Oakfield, working as a mechanic at the pea-viner station. Later known as Friday Canning Company, David was Plant Manager at the time the tornado went through Oakfield and hit the company.

David was a volunteer member of the Oakfield Fire Department and served as Captain of the First Responders. For many years he belonged to the German Club of Fond du Lac and served as its president for a couple of those years. David is survived by his two sons: Michael “Mich” (Linda) Perry of Fond du Lac and Daniel Perry of Pickett; his granddaughter, Heather Perry, and his brother Philip (Joan) Perry of Fond du Lac.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Andrea (1964) and his brother, Robert Perry of Missouri. VISITATION: Friends may call on Monday, July 2, 2018, from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac. FUNERAL: Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at Kurki-Mach Funeral Chapel with Rev.
