He retired from American Commercial Barge Line after 43 years of service. He is proceeded in death by his father, Joseph ‘Junie’ Meffert Jr. David is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janis Taulbee Meffert, Daughters Becca Meffert(MeMe Ratliff), Jessica McFadden(Matthew), 3 Grandchildren, William Titlow, Breigh and Fiona McFadden, Mother, Doris Kelley Meffert, Sister, Karen Evens(Larry) of Lexington, KY, Brother-in-Law, John Taulbee(Barb smith) and 3 Nephews.

Visitation will be Sunday January, 6th 12-6PM at Bosse Funeral Home 1355 Ellison Ave. The funeral will be Monday, January 7th at 10AM at St. Stephen Martyr Church, 2931 Pindell Ave. With Cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers Memorial donations may be made to the Louisville Zoo, Hosparus Louisville or Donors Favorite charity.
