Obituary for Sarah Elizabeth Ede- Kennedy Sarah Elizabeth Ede-Kennedy, 35, of Louisville, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at Norton Audubon Hospital with her family by her side. She was born May 17, 1983 in Louisville, the daughter of James “Jim” Ede and Marilyn Baker Ede. Sarah was a 2002 graduate of Mercy Academy.
She continued on after graduation and attended Western Kentucky University, where she graduated in 2006 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree. Sarah was a team leader for Humana and worked in the Medicare Reconciliation Department. She was a beautiful lady inside and out.
Sarah is best described as a sweet, honest, sincere and loyal individual. She always had a smile on her face and if you were her friend, she was very true to you. Sarah is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Charles A. and Clara L. Logsdon Baker and paternal grandparents, Charles C. and Helen R. Ede.
She is survived by her loving husband, Brian Kennedy; her parents, Jim and Marilyn Ede; brother, James Andrew Ede (Emily); niece and nephew, Zachary and Izzy Ede; father-in-law, Daniel Thurman Kennedy (Susan); mother-in-law, Linda Jean Kramer (Norman “Pete”); brother-in-law, Daniel D. Kennedy; Step brother-in-law, Jason Kramer and step sister-in-law, Kelly Thomas (Mike). Sarah also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, extended family, co-workers and many friends. Our family would also like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Norton Audubon ICU for taking excellent care of Sarah.
This includes Meggee, Kaitlyn, Jessica, Mike, and Barbara. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 212 Mt. Mercy Drive, Pewee Valley with burial to follow in St. Aloysius Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Ratterman Funeral Home, 3711 Lexington Road, “in St. Matthews”. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to WHAS Crusade For Children or Save The Manatee.
