OBITUARY James Ward November 21, 1936 – January 5, 2019 James Ward, 82 of Louisville passed away on January 5, 2019. James was born in New York City on November 21 1936. He was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Virginia C. Ward.

James and Virginia were married at the young age of 18 and ended up in the Louisville, KY via James’ job with General Electric. They shared a long marriage of love and laughter. He had a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a long, illustrious career as an electrical engineer including at one time helping design the Lunar module landing gear for the Apollo space program.

He maintained his sense of humor throughout his life and was always a bright spot in the lives of others. Left to cherish James’ memory are four beloved children, James (Trisha), Daniel (Arlene), Karen Callahan (Eugene) and Thomas (Lynne), five amazing grandchildren, Tiffany Boyce (Mike), Sean (Katie) Callahan, Jennifer Wates (Brent), Conor (Megan) Ward, Khali Ward, five wonderful great grandchildren, Jackson Boyce, Emily Boyce, Hayden Wates, Caleb Wates, and Rhett Wates. A funeral service to celebrate James’ life will be conducted at 10am on Wednesday, January 9, 2019 in the chapel of Arch L. Heady & Son at Westport Village, 7410 Westport Rd, with interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
