Obituary for David L. Collin Sr. David L. Collin, Sr. January 27, 1946-October 26, 2018 David L. Collin Sr., 72, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 at Golden Living Center – Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, Indiana. He was born January 27, 1946 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, the son of Clifford William Collin and Dorothy (McNerney) Collin.

David retired in 1997 after serving many years in retail management. He served in the United States Army from 1966-1968. David was a member of Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and the Stillwell Rod and Gun Club.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing his guitar. David was also a huge Chicago Cubs fan. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

On December 30, 1967, in Fort Benjamin Harrison, Indiana, he married Nancy (Erdman) Collin who survives in La Porte. He is also survived by his son, David Collin, Jr. of La Porte, IN; three daughters, Bridget (Antonio) Lopez of Lafayette, IN, Margaret (Matthew) Reeder of Muncie, IN, Laura (David) Riffel of La Porte, IN; six grandchildren, Ireland, Abigail, Graham, Vada, Ethan, Charlotte; three brothers, John Collin, Jim Collin, Paul Collin; two sisters, Marie Fussman, Susan Fuller; several nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by both his parents; two brothers, Bill Collin, Denis Collin; three sisters, Virginia Finch, Patsy Viet, Casey Nelson.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave. , LaPorte, Indiana where the family will receive friends Monday, October 29, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. – 09:30 a.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 201 Bach St., La Porte, Indiana, Tuesday October 30, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Ian Williams officiating.
