David Wills, 39, of Bemidji, MN died Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Sanford Bemidji Medical Center. A Celebration of Life will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, December 2, 2018 at the Bemidji Eagles Club. Private interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Bemidji.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home, Bemidji. Honorary bearers, Milton Smail and numerous cousins and Nala. Casket bearers, Joshua Collins, Tom Scarborough, Charles Wills, Jake Reynolds, Jacob Krisak and Joe Thomton.

David Wills was born March 23, 1979 in Bemidji, MN. He was a beloved father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend. He was a protector of everyone.

He was the only person I knew that cared for people before himself. He served 3 tours in Iraq. He saw his fellow soldiers die in battle.

He came home a changed man. Always advocating for Veterans and their families. He was honored by being part of the Honor Guard of the VFW and American Legion.

He would always be the first to crack a joke, to say a sarcastic one liner. First to give a hug to those in need. Always there if you needed a hand and devoted designated driver for those in need.

Always the ladies man. He was an animal lover especially to the special ones; Nala, Gowa, Misty and many others. We will always remember the smell of coffee all night, Holiday is going to dump a couple pots a day.

He was first to the cookie jar at grandma’s. He was a devoted outdoors man hunting, fishing, shooting or just getting out in the woods. Was a devoted dart player, bartender, bouncer, lover and fighter.

He would never let you fight your own battles. Thanks for being our brother, dad, son, friend, protector, cuddle bear, pops and daddy. We will always love you.

Now go fly high and be our protector forever and ever Amen! He is survived by sons, William Wills of Waterford, WI, Ashton Lucek of Baudette and Bradley Wills of Baudette; daughter, Myranda Wills of Baudette; mother, Linda Fenner of Bemidji; grandparents, Milton and Sandy Smail of Bemidji; brothers, Jonathan Wills of Bemidji and Lukas (Brenda Wood) Reynolds of Bemidji; beloved Nala his dog and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
